Teenage Pregnancy - How To Deal With It

Learn how to accept the fact that your teenage daughter is pregnant. This is not something a mother would wish for her daughter. If it happened you must learn to see things in a more positive way. A baby will not destroy her life just like your daughter did not destroy yours. Tell her that you are there for her.

It’s totally her decision if she wishes to keep the baby or not. You just have to let her know that no matter what she will not be alone. If she will keep the baby, give her as a gift some girls baby bedding. It will be a very nice surprise for your daughter. This gift will make her feel your support.

Try not to judge her too hard. Anybody can make a mistake. Most probably your daughter knows very little about babies. It’s your duty to teach her all she needs to know. The best would be if you will live in the same house with them for a while. This way you can show her everything she needs to know. To make things easier you can buy a Philips baby monitor. This way while she is doing her homework she can still check on the baby.

You should try to see the good side from your daughter’s pregnancy. First of all she is not alone. She has two great parents to help her and her baby with anything they need. Another good side is that you will have fun with the baby. It’s been a long time since you last had one in the house. Think at all the things you can do together. To make the baby bath more fun you can get some good quality baby bath towels.

Try to have a discussion with the father of the baby too. It’s better if the boy’s parents will assist to the conversation. If he will not get involved in raising the baby than you are the only ones to support your daughter. Tell her that it’s better to break up than to be with a man only for the kid.

Your daughter might also consider to give up school and take a job. Do your best to convince her that she should finish her studies. Tell her that is the only way to make her baby proud of her.

The best advice is to talk to your husband first. Try not to react from the first day you find out that your daughter is pregnant. This will give you both a chance to calm down.
