19th January 2009 by Babies No CommentsIPV is a about baby vaccine given to newborns and kids to prevent them against polio disease. Poliomyelitis often referred to as infantile paralysis or polio is an acute infectious disease. This disease is caused by virus. This viral illness appears in three forms such as paralytic polio, non-paralytic polio and abortive polio. The debilitating and severe form is referred as paralytic polio. The more severe form linked with aseptic meningitis is named as non-paralytic polio. The mild form of this disease is abortive polio. There is recovery for non- paralytic and abortive polio but paralytic polio as the name describes causes muscle palsy and it might even result in death. In this paralytic polio the virus moves from the intestinal tract to the blood stream affecting the nerves. This virus might affect the nerves that regulate the muscles of the limbs and the muscles essential for breathing causing severe breathing problems and paralysis of the legs and arms. Polio is a contagious disease. This is often transmitted from the substance contaminated with the bumped in poop.
This IPV about baby vaccine should be given to children in the age of two months to six years. This vaccine causes stimulation in the immune system of the human body to fight against the virus. As this disease spreads mainly through oral contact children are at high risk if they are not vaccinated in the proper age. Children not vaccinated with this IPV vaccine in the right age will suffer from paralysis. In some cases this may even lead to the death of the children. Hence it is very essential to vaccinate children between two months and six years of age to prevent them from confronting many severe and dangerous diseases.
