Crib Sets Are Easier and Are Less Expensive
30th July 2009 by Babies No CommentsThe options for crib bedding are nearly endless, and you’ll find literally hundreds of choices, from girl’s crib bedding to boy crib bedding to neutral bedding. If you are not sure what you want for bedding, you may be tempted to pick out separates, but you should consider how much it’s going to cost you. Baby bedding sets are the equivalent of a bed-in-a-bag. Although you will need to buy some extra crib sheets, the easiest way to make sure your crib bedding will match the nursery is to get a set.
Styles and fabrics are going to vary from set to set, so keep your preferences in mind. It’s usually a better idea to stick to fabrics like cotton or flannel, because they’re machine-washable and won’t break the bank. Buying a new bedding set can make a huge change in the look of the nursery, so you may be able to redecorate by doing nothing more than changing the crib bedding.
Whether you know the gender of your new baby or not, make sure you buy bedding that’s going to make sense. There’s a bit of a double standard in crib bedding, though. Pink is a no for a boy, but blue is OK in a girl’s room. You are not likely to have any problems whatsoever, though, because manufacturers keep themselves well informed of market trends. Bugs, cars, and trains are just some of the themes you’ll frequently find in a boys room. Also the ever-popular sports themes like baseball and football baby bedding. Bright colors are more often a feature of boys’ bedding than of girls’.You’ll frequently find girl’s rooms decorated with ballerinas, princesses, or flowers. You’ll find that girl’s bedding usually comes in pastel colors like pink, mauve, or teal. Themes like zoo, farm, or cartoons can be a great choice because they’re work with either gender.
If you are very particular about what you want and can’t find it anywhere, you might want to investigate custom-made bedding sets. Nothing exudes love like a handmade gift, so if you can sew, you might want to create the crib set yourself. You may find shopping for crib bedding a bit difficult, but if you plan your preferences and budget ahead of time, you will save yourself a lot of work and wasted time.
